Frequently Asked Questions
What does canine massage help with?
Canine massage offers so many physical and emotional benefits for dogs of all ages. It is as essential a component of health care as food, water, shelter, exercise, and grooming. Just a few of these many benefits include:
- Alleviate muscle restrictions
- Ease pain and improve joint mobility
- Stimulate circulation and boost the immune system
- Speed recovery from surgery, illness, or injury
- Reduce stress and anxiety
- Provide comfort for end-of-life care
Massage and bodywork can significantly contribute to your dog’s overall health, energy, and quality of life. And, best of all...it feels good!
What should I expect during an in-home visit?
Every animal is different and their responses to massage vary. Some settle in quickly, while others need time to acclimate to the process. It’s totally normal if they need to take short breaks to move around or get water, play with a toy briefly, or even require a potty break mid-session. It's all part of the process. Our goal is to listen to the cues each dog provides to help build our trust and ensure their experience remains positive.
After our session, most dogs will be relaxed and nap, while others may have a small burst of energy. While not common, some dogs may experience mild discomfort or tenderness after a session. This soreness should subside within a day or two. Providing plenty of water after our sessions will help maintain hydration, and light movement can aid in reducing any potential soreness from our session.
How do I prepare for my pet’s massage?
We will bring a mat and soft blanket to use, but can set up wherever your dog is most comfortable and quiet. Please be sure to give them a potty break and refrain from any large meals beforehand. If your dog is high energy, a short walk prior to our appointment may be helpful to calm them.
What areas do you service?
Travel is included within a 30-minute radius of Ferguson, MO. For locations beyond this, a flat travel fee of $10 will be added per visit.
Can my other pets be present?
As long as the session is not being disrupted, any other animals in the house are free to move about during our visit.
How often should my dog get massaged?
Frequency of sessions will depend on the dog’s individual needs. During our first session, we will discuss a massage wellness plan that works best for both you and your dog.
Do you work with cats?
While we primarily work with dogs, we do occasionally accept feline clients.
What is your cancellation policy?
We kindly ask that any appointment changes be made at least 24 hours in advance when possible. No-shows will be charged the full session fee.
